Our mission
Is the health and welfare of urban animals important to you? Then you have come to the right place!
Our mission: to collect, treat, sterilize, vaccinate, microchip and adopt out abandoned animals, as well as control cat colonies through capture-sterilization-release operations.
A STORY OF HEARTS IN ACTION
Founded in August 2018 and ran entirely by experienced and gutsy volunteers, Refuge Animex is a non-profit organization duly registered as a charity.
Refuge Animex acts within the community of Verdun and its surrounding neighborhoods to rescue abandoned, stray, or neglected animals. Giving these vulnerable and sensitive beings a second chance is one of the Refuge's primary missions.
Well established with the collaboration of the Animex Ambulance Services and partnerships with the Café Chato and the LaSalle Veterinary Clinic, Refuge Animex makes sure to obtain the required care for the animals, to ensure their comfort and to find them an adequate and loving temporary foster family to welcome them until their adoption.
The passion for animals drives the work at Refuge Animex and all actions are taken with the goal being the adoption of rescued animals: treatments, disease tests, sterilization, vaccination and microchipping are required for each intervention.
Surrounded by volunteers who have the well-being of each animal at heart at all stages of its care until its adoption, Refuge Animex does what is necessary with dedication and rigor to support it and find its forever home.
We also believe it is crucial to inform and educate people about the importance of sterilization to prevent the phenomenon of stray animals. Our team is available to educate and supervise anyone with questions about this sad situation.
